As I watch and hear about this riots and all that goes on in the middle east I think to things. As an outsider looking in I think that are all crazy. Then I think about that fact that there are some many of them with those views and wonder if they're sane and I'm not. All I'm trying to say is I just don't get it. I don't base my life off religion and all the fun racial stuff that goes along with it. I just don't understand what goes through their minds. In less the 48 hours I'll be on my way to basic training and I'm sitting here wondering why all the muslins are getting so worked up. I can't figure out a worthy reason.

Edited- must have been one of the undoubtedly many threads I missed on my absence!

That's something I'll always venture into the free fire zone for- best wishes and respect to those who serve their country, whichever country that may be!

    And beer.

    ;)

    [found the right thread!]

Thanks CrazyD. I leave for the army tomorrow and they can't even tell me when I'm leaving yet. Apparently I might need a security interview before I leave (even though I've already had it). The army loses way to much paperwork.

As of my service time that was not an old saying. I am pretty sure I have heard it used in interviews and blogs from current soldiers too. Some sayings never go out of use in the military. Hurry up and wait is one, and SNAFU is another.

Goodbye, Panzer! Thanks for your service!

Just remember what the uniform must represent and stand for. Remember WWII, it's not about exchanging tirannies, nor revenge, nor hatred.

Good luck, fair winds and following seas as we say in the Navy PzGr. As for me I just retired from said service after 27 years. Five times to the Gulf was enough.
