I definately agree that model building is a dying hobby. I'm gonna be a Junior in highschool (my brother already posted on here, he's "Timothy S."), and most everyone is playing PS2 or XBox or computer games. Now, we play computer games sometimes, but we both like building aircraft models better and we can't play on the computer all the time, like the way many of our fellow classmates do. But when we do play games, we only, and I mean only, play WW2 games.

The prices are really starting to hurt. We've long since bought just about all the models that you can buy in average hobby shops. What we've turned to is, E-Bay. We've found some really unique aircraft, and the prices we get are really good. We also find ads in the paper for models. Then whenever, we go check out the places, we usually buy lots of stuff. Plus, the sellers usually give us a really good discount, due to the fact that we are highschool students who build models. I've gotten a 1/48 scale B-17 and B-24 that list at $40 and up for less than $15 each.

Man, I don't understand why teens these days don't build models. They really don't know what their missing.

I'm sixteen, and I know a good amount of modellers, true, its not WW2 but its modelling. And Painting. And wargaming. Sadly, yes, its a dying hobby - but look at it this way, in 60 or so years veteran x-box players would be posting their concern on how they believe x-box playing is becoming a dieing hobby.

Oh yes, anyone know a company that does 28mm scale models?

What 28mm figures you after zealot?

Just about any period you want can be found in this scale.

If you want world war two, then try

    Wargames foundry
    Battle Honours
    Artisan designs
    Icon (Old Harlequin)
    West Wind

I have been wargaming for 20 years, and for sins, even ran a shop for the evil empire, games workshop. If you want the web address' or anything else, PM me.

from here at the font page go to forums. What will come up is a narrow vertical page on the left with several choices. Might be worth a look.
    Also anothe favorite of mine.

    www.missing-lynx.com

give the front page time to load. There are several forums you can acess and of course pry those experts of knowledge ;) some great looking dioramas presented in many forms, although usally armor is presented. Beautiful work !
