I almost had one that I was going to buy at a gunshow in Corpus Christi about 10 years ago. TYhe jerko I was going to buy it from was conniving mike morris from Bulverde, Tx. This guy was always known as a jerk of misery and I found out first-hand why.

He had about 20 of them for sale @ $450.00 each. They were the first guns I decided to look at and before making the rounds as is usually my custom-before committing to buying anything-I gave him a $200.00 deposit on one-thinking this baby was mine. I left the gunshow ansd came back to the next one he was going to be at so I could finish paying for my MP-40. Well, the sorry SOB said he accidently sold mine to someone else at the Laredo gunshow and ""forgot"" to keep one aside as mine. I said well, then I want my $200 deposit placed on a mint-green parkerized Colt 44. which had only the slightest of holsterwear-and then placed another $200 on it saying I could finish paying it off at the next show he was at in CC-which was two weeks away-and was to what he agreed upon.

Well, two weeks later-and after calling in sick from work (playing hookey) I went to said show wirtht he remainder of the mmoney for the pistol expecting to come away with a big ape-like grin on my face-only to be told the wildest BS-filled stories one can ever here. Allagedly my Colt .45 """"Walked out"""" of the Laredo gunshow. Well, I knew it was BS qand he knew I knew he was full of it. I then said just give me my $400 back-and I got a long-winded story that he diddn't have it on him (BS again) and he could only give me $200-which I immediately snatched from his lie-filled and VERY greedy pawes-and went and immediately purchased the Walther P-38 I now have. I purposely walked pastthis jerks table twirling my "new" P-38 on my right hands triggerfinger-and I had also known thaat Bast__d had wanted that P-38 but just had not yet made it to that guys table to buy it.

mike morris is a well-known Luger collector and once owned 5,000 lugers. Well, what I finally found out that happened to both (my) MP-40 and then that Colt .45-was that this jerko sold both out from under me to someone who offered more-even though the deals on both weapons SHOULD have been secure. Well, I found out that some prickly pear paid this freak $650 for MY MP-40-and I found out that another jerko paid $1,800 for MY Colt 45. My Colt .45 was a Remington Rand produced piece-stamped in 1942. This is the exact same make and year as that Artillery Generals Colt .45 I once had owned. That .45 had belonged to Lt.Gen Francis P. Hardaway-who served under MacArthur. This Gents can easily be looked up on the net if anyone wants to know more.

Anyway, thanks to mike morris's double-dealings-he was banned from selling or attending all gunshows in Texas. Well, several years ago-I got some great news. His "Eye-Candy" wife divorced him taking the house in Bulverde, the cars and the Luger collection leaving mike morris with almost nothing

I would settle for those helmets in that pic. I have an allied press photo that showd two GIs going through a large stack of mausers. Its been posted here by JulioMac sometime ago.

No telling Ray. I met a gut who brought back a crate full of MP-40s 10 in all. His bringback was well documented and I saw the photos of them. He also had a PPSh as well. Over the years, ghe sold all of them to Deputy's and such with the exception of that PPSh.

Same here. Also about mike morris, this guy was one of the wealthiest dealers/collectors here in Texas, but thanks to that divorce from hisn eye-candy wife-his collection now only consists of one Luger-one that was found in a lake and was all corroded. I've sen that Luger as well and laughed my butt off when i saw it. Heh heh, even I, have a better collection of WWII German stuff than this dork has

true you might never get back what you sell, but in my case-machts nicht (SP?) im just tired of the items I have which are going for another trade deal (Lancers uniform movie prop) so I don;t really mind it so much. What I WILL regret if he time ever comes? if when or if I ever decide to sell off my mint LW Pilots Badge, Minty LW Flak badge, minty Uboat badge and such.

Hi Ray, trouble is, is that im always looking to improve my Army stuff-but I still have not yet been able to really make up my mind on getting rid of them since they are all great examples of those badges-and I don't feel lik reinvesting about $2,000 just to get them back. I think I paid for all of these a sum total of appx $575.00 which also includes a 1939 EKI w/ brass core-which came with the Uboat badge.

Same here. Thats part of the reason why I have such a fascination for all things Eastern Front. Oh and, I just got in another 16 photos today-all are East Front and many identified dates and locations and activities. Ill be adding skimmy info onseveral of the photos in the latest my photos thread ;-))
