The picture is there for me though there is a very suspicious red cross below it. It looks like a parasol winged fighter but it's not a Polish PZL 11 I can't really see if the wing is straight or gull shaped but too many details are different .... It could be a PZL 24. I found a picture of the second prototype PZL 24/II that has very similiar markings but had a 3 bladed propeller while the pic looks having a two bladed one.
It is indeed a PZL 24. Sorry for any photo "anomalies," the picture looks ok to me. Over to you T/O/S.
Tried posting a couple of times tonight but no joy, the server was having a fit, this is the last of "discards" I think worth posting, "no red herrings" but very few pointers too. View attachment 6085
I know but we had the server breakdown so I will leave it one more day. I also have to look up for a replacement and I'm really running out ou ideas. HINT: It's italian but it's maker is better known for a very different sort of vehicle.
This one was driving me "mad" ... Then the server went down, well you know the rest. Anyway TiredOldSoldier I reckon (with the help of your clue) that it's the Piaggio P50-1 (MM369) prototype. From the photo you posted it's nigh impossible to identify the "pusher" engines, thought the propellers looked more like wing-struts until I found a photo of one from a different angel.
Blacksnake The Piaggio P50 is correct, I confess I photoshopped out the tail markings but the "disappearing pusher engines" are from the original, I also had to look for other photos to explain why it was described as a four engined plane while I could only see two. Where did you find MM369 ? MM usualy stands for Matricola Militare and 369 is awfully low for the thirties, Italian plane production was sluggish but not that bad ! Over to you
Nice try TiredOldSoldier ... But I can't reveal my sources, I could tell you...But then I'd have to kill you The MM369 was the caption on the photo I found ... There where three versions of the P-50 the last one being listed as MM371? The pusher engines were a complete surprise when I finally found it, convinced it was a twin engined we were looking for. Difficult one that mate...Well done.
I had Ki-83 ... But what the "L" ... It's turning out harder to find a decent one than it is to identify the bloody things Over to you TiredOldSoldier.
Well if you pick a picture from William Green ..... my second copy of his books is surviving only because the font is too small for my worsening eyesight. And I wore out the first set when I was a kid. This is not great but .... it's the only one I have ready. View attachment 6153
