What is that flag on the tail rudder? At first I thought Austrian or something lol. It obviously isn't a fighter, but then again the Japanese made the Ki-45 twin-seat fighter... soooooo...

Haha I'm gunna try not to give away too much too fast on this one. For now I will tell you that it is a pre war light bomber, NOT Austrian.

Not German... I have a feeling the bars are red and the rest of the flag is yellow... where have I seen that before... Spain? But then they were neutral... DAMMIT

My first guess was the two seat variant of the Breda Ba-65 but it's not and I can't think of any other Italian plane that looks like that.
The photo and the plane do not have a German "look" and it's not one of the loosers of the Stuka competition.
Possibly e Japanese dive bomber prototype despite the fully retractable undercarriage, that tube in front of the cockpit looks very much like the one on the Val.

The Nakajima D3N1 lost the competition to the Val but doesn't look much like that photo though it did have a retractable undercarriage, the Mitsubishi D3M1 was similar but can't find a picture of it.
More likely to be JAAF than JNAF with that color scheme anyway but still can't find it, not a Mitsubishi Ki 51, could it be the more advanced Ki 71 ? but that was post 1941 not pre-war.

43 wasn't flown until 1939 so it probably isn't a Ki... most Ki's are interceptors/fighters or ground attack craft... this is a bomber...

Save the picture to your computer with a different name. Then come here, click on post reply and then manage attachments. You should be able to go from there.
