The gun is a 15cm sIG 33 on a Pz.Kpfw.111 chassis but cobbled together!

 

AFAIK dazzerjeep is right, that was a field conversion by the Afrika Korps (the palm insigna is clearly visible) while all the true factory built Sturm-Infanteriegeschütz 33B, that were based on early Stug not PzIII chassis, went to the Eastern front (most were lost at Stalingrad).
Did it have a name? a modeller site calls it a 15cm sIG 33B auf PzKpfw III Ausf H

 

In the picture it looks as though they hava just finished the conversion, so if somebody can give it a name fare play official name that is!

I'll let you have that, it is the T52 multiple gun motor carriage, designed in 1942 by the Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. It had a 40mm AA gun flanked by 2 .50 cal machine guns, but was cancelled in 1944 due to being to slow at tracking aircraft,

One of the makers put the two main weapons side by side rather than on top of one another but I cant remember which one did what!

 

You are so close. One hint is Rheinmetall-Borsig, but who made which one?
