Strasbourg probably post war after being raised and partially salvaged by the Italians.

Still in the ranging shot stage, not Stasbourg (or Dunquerque).

EDIT: As nobody seems to get close here is another picture taken a bit earlier

They look like Vittorio Veneto and Italia being scrapped.
BTW you have pretty rare photos, it is very nice to see them!

Yes they are Vittorio Veneto and Italia, the first pic was Italia (but at that stage of dismantling I don't think there'se any way to disinguish them).Your turn</p>

Look at the size of that bore. Is this a test vessel? Single-gun turret.

Yes, it is HMS Furious with single 18" gun turret, during testing.
Later it was converted to aircraft carrier (actually, several times converted)

    TiredOldSoldier, your turn.

Its Japanese. It it the Imperial Japanese Army ship [Akitsu Maru but, it might be Nigitsu Maru as they both look similar and there seems to be some confusion about that photo as it is credited to both ships.

Full center on the first salvo!!!

My source identifies her as the Akitsu Maru and says the Nigitsu Maru was completed without a flight deck while the Kumano Maru was delivered in in March 1945 to a different design without an island and the fourth sister Tokitsu Maru was never completed. The plane on the after deck should be a Kokusai Ki 76 ASW plane though some photos prove the a Kayaba Ka-Go 2 gyroplane was also considered for her airwing. Pretty stange ship, some interservice rivalry is natural but an army aircraft carrier is taking things a bit too far.

    Your turn

Assuming she was a warhip the flag looks Greek, so my guess would be Korgialenios (the name on the stern is too long for any of her sisters). The aft superstructure doesn't match the pictures I have of her sister Pleias as a minesweeper, possibly converted after the war ?.

Well, she ended up in the Greek navy but didn't start there..... You got that much right. Also, originally, she was used in a function that was related to mines but not as a minesweeper or layer.

Looks to me like a Patapsco class tanker. Either HNS Arethousa ex Natchaug or HNS Ariadni ex Tambigbee

Nope. Far too large a ship. Think smaller. Hint: She started out on the other side of the planet.

Another hint. It's a museum ship today.
