Nazis and the occult

While on this aspect of Nazi-ology, why hasn't anybody mentioned the biggest fanatic in dealing with occultish affairs, none other than RUDOLF HESS.

Hess's dabblings in astrology lead to all sorts of snide comments from died in the wool realists like Goebbels. It has been said that Hess's obsession with this sent him over the North Sea after particularly bad 'omens' came forth from an astrological reading he did for the Russian 'adventure'.

I'll dig out Hitler's astrological birthchart for you if you are really interested, and for those that put creedence into such things. I'll have a rummage and see if i can find it.

A strange outcome of Hess's flight to England was that "all fortune tellers and clairvoyants in Germany were arrested."

During the Early years of the struggle, many party leaders, including Hess, relied on clairvoyant insight and astrology for guidance.
"At Nuremberg, Hess confided to the American prison psychiatrists, Dr Kelley, that late in 1940, one of his astrologers had read in the stars that he was ordained to bring about peace. It seems that Hauschofer's dream came true after all. Hess was imprisoned at Spandau, a 'castle', and his continued imprisonment certainly brought about 'peace' between two great Nordic nations....but the two nations were actually Russia and Britain. Britain has more than a few Nordic associations and Russia is the product of Viking settlers expanding through the great river systems of the country. The tribe that first settled and stayed the longest were the RUS, from which the modern term 'Russia' is derived.

 

clairvoyant and cardwriting stuff is what I tried to avoid and called the hocus pocus things . Its doesnt hold a historic importance or not weather some believed in clearvoyance or not , its more a strange curiosity to know they did really seem to have arrested clearvoyants 'just in case '.
What definately is important is the use of ancient religious rites as a 'bond', as these were known to people for centuries as stories and a sleeping identity awakening ,it helped to familiarize the new cult that was to replace christianity in the longer run .It helped to build a total package of new politics , newfound history where other peoples could eventually join in too , new work , a new pride after the shame of de inflation years and ww1 , a new art ,new music ..a total new special identity in every field ..and slowly ...a new moral ...guess in sales you'dd call it offering a total package.
For inspiring the greater masses strong and recognizable symbols were essential so they just sought and found those ..We do our best today to ridiculize it from a scientific standpoint of today to disarm the dangers in it ,but that wasnt the case when the system was in full use in the thirties . A system that was thoughd over well by scholars who knew exactly what they were doing (and whatfor .) . Hess wasnt an idiot either ..he did get called that by all parties in the end , but cant imagine he was motivated by a dream alone .

 

I certainly don't accuse Rudolf Hess of idiocy. His mystical stargazing is not exactly scientific, as you point out.

So there you have it for those that place much store in those sorts of things, (which I personally do not). Interesting to see the bottom of the summary concludes with "absence of intuition"; Many people comment on Adolf's "intuitiveness", so maybe they are incorrect in their assumptions? Or was a good result for Hitler's policy making all put down to "intuition"?

Well I suppose since the photo was taken in the ‘50’s, over half a century ago the cost of fuel, feed corn, salaries, wheat for the buns, beef, transportation of raw materials, "mad cow" disease prohibitions on "certain parts" being used, and such might have influenced that price somewhat.
