    Hello all,
I'm a retired Barrister and old China hand, having spent 20+ years living and working in Hong Kong.
I've now been put to pasture in rural Kent.
I am very interested in WW2 and modern military history and I hope through this forum to be able to widen my knowledge of WW2, and perhaps make my own inconsequential contribution.
I have no military background, other than having been a Lance-Corporal in the Herefordshire Light Infantry contingent of the CCF; I consequently expect to be outranked and outgunned by almost everyone.
I have a particular interest in the activities of SOE and OSS and the role of the "Pathfinders" who later became part of SAS in WW2. I was fortunate enough some years ago to meet 2 of the original "Pathfinders" who were working with the maquis in occupied France. Believe me, they have a very interesting tale to tell, but sadly they are pretty thin on the ground now and their role has been largely overlooked in favour of other operations in North Africa with the exploits of Stirling, Paddy Mayne et al.
I like to play games like Call of Duty, Medal of Honor etc, but I'm not brave enough yet to play online. If any of you are familiar with the work of the "Pathfinders", I'd love to hear what you have to say.
Thanks for allowing me into your community.

Welcome to the forum. I too have been interested in SOE, SAS, and Marquis operations, particularly in Brittany. Although Brittany operations usually show up as a chapter in general over-views, which seem to dominate the literature, I believe the definitive account of clandestine operations in Brittany has yet to be written. Enjoy your stay here.
