Well, there was no lead to sit on. There was no time to sit on anything!! The Vikings came at us determined to win. I will say this for the Bengals 2nd string defense is giving their opponents problems Brett will probably be nursing his sore body after being pounded so much. The Ravens looked great today. Well here's to next week with the Chargers.

What "pounding"? Brett was sacked exactly twice, he's been sacked that many times in a quarter or even a drive in the past. Brett is a "breath of fresh air" for all of we; "over the hill gang".

Clint, I think he's a great quarterback that came back for the love of the game. I would think letting a 350lb line backer siting on me would be consider a pounding. I believe the annoucers in that game showed that he was going to be the most bruised and battered player of the game. He was holding his jaw and was hurried more than 8 times. But a wins a win. Congrats

Say there guy, have you heard what the latest is on WR Henry? The thing I heard this morning was that he was thrown out of the back of a pickup (somehow) and in serious conditon in the hospital.

Jeeze, I'm sorry. Right after I posted that, the news he had passed away comes on the tube. That is too bad, Chris was a great receiver with years of production in the NFL ahead of him I believe.

Hi CLint. Yes it is a sad day for Bengals and all NFL fans. It is always sad to hear of the death of those with so much still ahead of them.

Agreed, it did seem that he had turned his "life" around and removed himself from the self-destructive positons he had put himself into. Perhaps his last action showed that wasn't really the truth of the matter?

Still too bad for a life with potential to be snuffed out (for whatever reason) this early. What was Chris' age? 26 or so?

Hi Clint, yeah it's a shame. I agree with you though about the truth of the matter. These young guys get wealth, fame and have this aura that nothing can harm them. Just so sad I really believed he was getting it together. Some people think he is just a joke but you can see how he pulled together the Bengals offense and made it complete giving Palmer another good tool on the field. This is what I pulled from the net today. God Bless his family may they find peace out of all this.

Okay you guys, it's game day and already Arizona is killing Detroit. New England looks as if they will have no problem winning their game. Cincinnati plays at four and the Ravens play a little after four. Lots of good games today this will probably decide who's going to win the division. Time to get my game shirt on. Please dear Lord for a Christmas wish let Cincinnati win today. Amen

well, doesn't look good for the Bengals with the 3 seconds left and behind by a field goal. The Ravens sure whipped up on the Bears; 31-7! Miami lost, the Jets lost, and Cleveland WON!

Forget what this does for the Cin. team, I think they are still the AFC north leaders aren't they?

Bengals loss was a definite heart breaker. Especially since the Ravens won. I still can't believe the Jets lost. But yes, Clint the Bengals should still be the AFC north leader. Grueling game. Oh well, whoever has the Chargers next will have an okay time we took out 6 of their players. Hope their offensive lineman is okay. Palmer through for over 300 yards his first in 3 years. See what happens when you give the passing game a chance Mike Brown? Then Bengals move the BALL!!

There were some surprisingly good and close games today that I didn't expect. The OT game in Ten. for the Mia loss, the Cin. S.D. game was a great one to the end. The Pitt & G.B. game was also a nail-biter to the Steeler win.

I was more than a little disappointed at the Den. loss at home by a point to the frigging Raiders, but then again it is getting to that time of the year when even if a team isn't in the "running" they can play with abandon and turn into spoilers. Look at the run the Lions gave to Ariz.!

All in all, some pretty good games today, I always like those better than "blow-aways" even if my team (which ever in that game) is given a tussle. At least they are interesting not "ho-hum, what else is on?"

I caught the end of the Steelers-Packers game after I watched the Eagles beat San Francisco and clinch a playoff berth. I'm glad the Steelers won, but what was Mike Tomlin thinking when he went with the on-side kick? Can you say "brain cramp"?

When I saw it on the "replay" highlights (I wasn't watching that game full time) I sort of understood why he tried it. A field goal gave them a two point lead, and that might have been a real "surprise" if that guy hadn't touched it before it went the full ten yards. Could have been a real "turning point" if it had worked.

But, sometimes it is best not to "gamble", however with the way the Steelers have behaved in the recent games mayhaps he just wanted to give them something to be "excited" about, and gain a little more "self esteem"? Still did kill them in the end, but it sure could have.

Here we go again. The curse of the 2006 season has to be broken. The Cincinnati Bengals just need a win. If Pittsburgh beats Baltimore (Sorry Ravens fans) the Cincinnati team would get the title. But I would prefer them to start winning rather than cross the line thanks to other teams. LRUSSO your Jets get the Colts today should be a good matchup. All the best to your teams today guys except for Kansas I would like them to lose.

Oh this Ravens game should be a nice match.... The Ravens barely pulled it of against the Steelers with no BEN!

    Go Ravens!

This is the time of the NFL year that gets down to the "fish or cut bait" situations. With the five 7-7 teams in the AFC, the options get down to who wins when, and who has tie-breakers in their back pocket.

Another thing that is sometimes overlooked, those teams with "nothing to play for" can on occassion simply play with reckless abandon and turn into spoilers for the teams on the "nub". The Chiefs at the Bengals spring to mind. They have played some other teams pretty close recently, and they only have "pride" to play for. Just ruining another teams season (or dampening it) in the final stretch might be motivation enough.

You never can tell what will be the "tipping point" these days. Should be an interesting next few weeks before the play-off picture comes into focus completely.

107, you must have misread one of my posts. I'm an Eagles fan, not the Jets (who?). Eagles host the Broncos today. An emotional game with the return of Brian Dawkins. More importantly, an Eagles win and a Cowboys loss (hope, hope), gives the Eagles the division title.
