Had that and the twin-gunned coastal defence battery. Also had Fort Sahara, the Wild West fort, the pontoon bridge, Waterloo farmhouse, the Roman fort and the Sheriff of Nottingham's castle. Often feel I single-handedly kept Airfix in business. Now you can buy precision-cut card versions of nearly all of them. There's even this- Italeri - 6198 - Montecassino Abbey 1944 Breaking the Gustav Line (Battle Set) - 1/72 Scale Model (1-72depot.com)
Did coast watchers live in anything that ... fancy? Or were they hiding out from the Japanese and laying low?
Think I had that one too, and the one called "observation post" which was basically just a ruined farmhouse. Always surprised Airfix never ventured into pillbox territory, or even further into Atlantic Wall stuff. Would have been more of a market for it in the '70s than now. Loved the '70s; looking back, the sense of freedom was amazing. Half the stuff we got up to would get kids taken into care these days.
