This certainly explains a lot: Lead from gasoline blunted the IQ of about half the U.S. population, study says "Exposure to leaded gasoline lowered the IQ of about half the population of the United States, a new study estimates. For people born in the 1960s and the 1970s, when leaded gas consumption was skyrocketing, the IQ loss was estimated to be up to 6 points and for some, more than 7 points. Exposure to it came primarily from inhaling auto exhaust."
The latest news is the Soviets and Ukrainians both have lost 10% of their armored vehicles. Also the Soviets have not been able to take the air supremacy despite massive air power. It is expected the Soviets are concentrating on attacking Kiev next. On map the Russians have not been able to get further for 2-3 days due to heavy resistance. It is rumoured that the General in charge of the whole Russian offensive has been replaced. Two Russian Army generals have died during the mission so far.
I spent six months in bed when I was in the third grade. I read everything in the house and Mom, in desperation, bought one of the library sized dictionaries, full 8 inches thick. I read that through in two months. But my prose may be too prolix, so I bid adieu.
I ran through a quick list of family members (both direct lineage and that linked by marriage) who were born 1960-1979. Based on my own interpolated analysis: Through a group consisting of over 50 individuals and taking into account the following - Narcissistic behaviour, a penchant for Entitlement leanings, a Predominant desire to 'prove' their understanding of World events, Work Ethic, Humility, Empathy, Acumen of Education and actually adhering to their religious beliefs I have come to the conclusion that our ancestors had good genes. Roughly 30% fall into the first three categories while the other 70% seem to have beat the odds.
The Russians have promised several times there will be unbombed corridors from war cities for civilians for certain time periods for them to escape the war. However, the russians forgot to tell the corridors were mined....you know the rest. The russians want to hire a thousand syrians for city fighting. Sounds like they are there for fighting in Kiev. The russians have forgotten Stalingrad. There will be loads of dead attackers. And like Monte Cassino, ruins are easier to defend. The russians have officially informed they don't want to change the Ukrainian government. Didn't Putin tell during the beginning of the war they were drug users and neo-nazis? Quite a load of bs there.
Found these online Ustar never heard of them till surfing thru hobbysearch Japan. These are on the top of my list for new additions the details are great looking. Found lots of interesting stuff on there. LS did a lot of great 144 and 72 scale kits I don't know what happened to them they went under during the 70 or 80s a couple of companies like arii and aoshima are still selling the old LS molds and at prices almost comparable to the old prices of back then. There's some old kits I'd like to still get like an Emily or pc3 Orion and a d3a Val. They make a nice jaguar too, like to build one the way they had them in desert storm. Anyway I hope Ustar releases a early m48 that or I'll have to use a f toy m48 to back date their m48h. Still puzzles me why they used the m48 turret instead of the m60 turret on their m60 chassis. You'd think they'd wand the extra room pluse the m60'already had the 105. They replace the 90s on the m48s to the 105 gun. From pics of the m48h the two things they did wrong was the drive wheel they made looks like a gear the teeth molded clear across and they give you a photo etch sprocket plate so when I get one I'll shave it smooth and the basket looks like a solid piece I think by sanding the back I should be able to thin it enough to make it look like a cage basket that or build one from strip plastic. The t54 and t59 should be great for covers ions of many types. I hope they do more like some wwii tanks maybe some Italian as there's almost no Italian tanks in 144 scale, almost every German AFV during wwii, lots of Soviet, it's of Japanese thanks to many Japanese companies, very few British and American but as time goes by the number I'd increasing. The Italians I think should be fairly easy as the running gear on their tanks seem to look the same through out there tanks they just got a bit bigger from one model to the next. They were working on a prototype that to me looked a little like a crusader, chassis wise.
Yeah they tell them their going to stop so they can evacuate then the asses start shelling the very next morning and kept she'll for two days and nights. What a bunch of jerks. I hope the Ukrainians keep racking them up. That vid where they down that hind was that from one of our stinger missiles that was just wild that hind speeding along just above the trees and you see that trail going across the angle seems like it was above either from a higher vantage or maybe a drone?
Big News indeed...This has to be one of the most amazing survival stories i've come across...(reminded me of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 that crashed in the Andes) After a number of searches in the past, she has finally been found... Though the study looked at the US population, if the thesis holds true, the results could/should be extrapolated to include other countries where large numbers of motor vehicles were used. In Europe, with the exception of Germany, the phasing out of leaded gas followed that of the US. In many third world countries it continued to be used well into the 2010's. What I don't understand is, why they only list the effects for the 1960's and 70's? Leaded gasoline has been in widespread use since the mid-1920's.
Because I cherry-picked that part. Recently had a cousin 'educate' me on what a stable genius he is and after reading the article things made a little more sense. Actually its more me being a asswhole and venting in public The first section; "Exposure to leaded gasoline lowered the IQ of about half the population of the United States, a new study estimates. The peer-reviewed study, published Monday in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, focuses on people born before 1996 — the year the U.S. banned gas containing lead. Overall, the researchers from Florida State University and Duke University found, childhood lead exposure cost America an estimated 824 million points, or 2.6 points per person on average. Certain cohorts were more affected than others. For people born in the 1960s and the 1970s, when leaded gas consumption was skyrocketing, the IQ loss was estimated to be up to 6 points and for some, more than 7 points. Exposure to it came primarily from inhaling auto exhaust."
It is amazing how the war has made the people of Ukraine united to fight the war. They say they are not afraid and people join either the arny or have started making weapons like Molotov cocktails that are sent to the frontline. Btw, there are some 16,000 foreign volunteers going to Ukraine by now and numbers are growing. Even from Finland tens of young men are at the moment joining the Ukraine army to defend to country.
Putin said that men from the reserve or conscripts are not used in the war. However, yesterday the russians told conscripts are used in the offensive no more the so-called "limited local action" as Putin called it. Little by little Putin's words are admitted being false statements by the russians themselves as well.
I read this...then i read this... British soldiers go AWOL ‘to fight in Ukraine’ over fears Putin could claim UK has entered war if captured (msn.com) Then this... Canadian sniper from famed regiment joins Ukraine’s foreign legion: “I have to help” (msn.com)
Goes to show you how much people around the world are fired up against Putin and his lies. Apparently so much so that men from all over are joining the Ukraine in its fight against unprovoked aggression. Putin says he attacked to protect Russian citizens in Ukraine border cities but most likely he instigated the clash then used it as an excuse. I think most of the world can't hold anything he says these days as anything but lies now. I bet the casualties the Ukraine is reporting against rusdian forces are true and he can't admit the losses as his own people would probably riot and turn against him. The highest casualties are probably the conscripts as that what happened in Chechnya and lost a lot of armor to Molotov cocktails and RPGs. They ended up giving up losing too many men and people protesting that the war was not wanted and a waste of Russian lives. Maybe if the Ukrainians can keep holding out and keep inflicting high casualties Putin will have to call a withdrawal. I think the longer he stays the more disparate he's getting for a win to justify the huge loss of men and material. I can see the poles going in as Poland has never forgiven the Russians for the murder of polish army POWs that were mice red back in wwii. I fact they almost went to war over it in modern times when the polish president and his staff went tonrussia on the memorial for the incident and their plane crashed killing everyone both sides at first accused sabatoge the polish even claiming the plane was shot down. Part of the blame was the Russians were far behind in airport safety the airport had no radar and could not help track the plane to the field the plane attempted to land in heavy fog and drop too low in the glide path and hit some trees and crashed sadly killing everyone aboard. I hope the Russians are not doing what they have done in past wars and killing any POWs. They say they shot many of the afghans they captured during that war. They had heavy casualties there as well. However they were fighting in unfamiliar territory and the afghans had a lot of the advantages attacking from mountain and hill defensive positions. The Ukrainians basically have the home advantage they know the terrain and have been setting up ambushes very effectively. Those drones of theirs have been doing very well destroying large convoys. The Russians are short supply vehicles and every one destroyed is making it harder for them to keep there forces supplied. The fact they have vehicles running out of fuel and soldiers raiding markets for food is showing how there logistics are stretched. They just might be forced to withdrawal due to lack of supplies. All major militaries agree that the Russians could only be fully supplied for a three or four day battle. It's plain to see their are running out of steam as pushes have slowed Ukraine reporting to have found many tanks abandoned running out of fuel. The Ukraine military having told units to make any supply vehicles especially fuel trucks a target priority. Hmmm like battle of the bulge run em outta fuel. Funny I would think the Russians would capture all truck stops and other sources of fuel like diesel is a more preferred type of engine in Europe than here as diesel is a much higher fuel efficient engine. When we started going toward diesel the oil companies stared a big campaign against it as they were geared to making gas we've gone from 60 percent a barrel for gas to 80 percent in Europe they have geared toward a higher production of diesel so plainly there should be lots of diesel fuel available. The Ukraine has also wrecked a lot of rail to further cripple the Russian supply lines. Also blown bridges their going to have to do a lot of reconstruction when this is all over probably going to need a lot of financial help after this is all over. Those pictures of long lines of supply convoys I bet the Ukraine is give those guys a beating with every thing they can. It's amazing to hear how their sending hundreds to thousands of Molotov cocktails to the fronts. Such a low tech weapon still so highly used. I hope somebody starts moving into the Ukraine in force if the Russians are having a hard time taking the Ukrainians they are really going to be on the downside if fresh well armed troops pour into the Ukraine. I also hope the Ukraine Air Force is able to make good use of those polish mig29s, I wonder if east Germany still has soviet aircraft.

We had to dispel all notions of sabotage and a shoot down as fast as possible as Poland was mobilizing for a possible confrontation. That would have been pretty wild as that was not that long after the Soviet Union collapse and they had all Soviet type equiptment.
