Sprog β left his toys out.
    Now they are rusty.
Sprog β will be acquainting himself with wire wool on return from school.

While I'm in the mood I thought I'd post a few more pics of my garden.

One is a general view showing the back of the garden and the second shows a stray cat having an encounter with a local fox.

Surprisingly enough, after a brief stand-off they both accepted each other and stayed basking in the sun for the next hour !

Thanks for all the pictures guys, they are nice to look at (not so much Bronk's backyard). We are lucky to live in such a beautiful world.

Easy to tell the North American back yards to the British ones. ;)

Some day archeologists will dig up Bronk's yard and argue about whether it represents a new species of hominid. Homo Jarheadiess perhaps.

Here is my yard. Not much compared to some of the other Rogue photos, but this is decent for a yard in Chicago proper. There is very little fauna other than rabbits and Mozzie the viscous Chihuahua+Jack Russel mix (pictured). The yard is completely fenced in, and I have a very small garden directly to the right of this photo. The rabbits have it very hard, I find their corpses all the time. In winter we feed the rabbits carrots during especially cold patches. In summer I sometime trap them in humane traps, put a few drops of anti-flea flea treatment on them and release them. This is more about protecting my two canines than the rabbits, as my dogs always mix it up with their long eared neighbors. The clump of bushes at the base of the tree at the right of the photo is a perennial den for rabbits, so they are always on top of one another as the rabbits are extremely tame. I've seen my dogs sunning themselves in the grass with a couple rabbits eating not five feet away.

Well, my back yard long ago quit being nice and green, which required the services of a lawn mower, and became more of an arid waste land. It is however still occupied by a variety of motorized gadgetz.
Here are 4 - 3 bikes (2 chicom copies of the BMW R 71 and a ruskie of the same. The ruskie has a driven side car) U. a Kubelwagon with a jeep trailer in the background.

I'll trade you my backyard for yours. I'll keep the dog, you wouldn't want him anyways, he's one hell of a pisser.

I live in a fairly large unincorporated area so we only have to contend with county zoning laws. I have a 5' fence along the N u.S sides and a 7' on the west end. Thus almost no one can see into my yard.
Good thing because I also have an M37B1 3/4 ton, 4 jeeps and 3 other trailers back there. And almost forgot a 43 Fiat 4 dr sedan.
I have also had - over the years - a couple of semi resident foxes and a family of raccoons, not to mention the ever present squirrels.

Those trees are wanting some attention.
I'd whack those lower/any dead branches and water shoots. The tree will become much healthier and look a lot better.
I lopped off all branches 3 feet above ground on the bottom of my pine. Makes mowing easier, cleans up the look of the tree.
An old gramophone next to poochy would top it all off.

It's a rental. Not too concerned about the trees. Trees have it hard in the city so I leave them be, the cover helps add a small amount of foliage for the rabbits. They probably have it the hardest, no predators in the city but I see their corpses on the streets all too often.

I like the gramophone idea. He does howl at music and singing. His full name is Mozzie Kamikaze. :Mozzie:

We have these ridiculously cute little bunnies hopping around... Blondes of the nature kingdom. Can hear them scream when the 'hood cats get 'em.
Don't get me started on the crows. Obnoxious, smart mfer's.
We had dozens of them in a field close by, in some sort of freak crow convention, a few years back. It was odd, took a picture.
A coincidence- our first double murder in history occurred in that same field after.
A large gathering of crows is called a murder. Interested in that- where did it originate.
