Hey guys. What were some Prussian characteristics/traditions in the WWII period? I think high ranking Nazi's generally disliked them, for some reasons that I don't know. Also what are some famous Prussians in the German military during the time of WW2? I tried looking this info up in Wikipedia and around google but didn't really get the info I wanted.
A good chunk of high ranking officers were Prussian or had studied in a Prussian school, I think if you had the middle name "von" (which signifies royalty) it also meant you had family roots from Prussia? But that doesn't necessarily mean you were trained in the Prussian school of thought. This is a pretty good Wiki entry, Prussian virtues - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I'm not 100% sure on this but I think the "main" officers commonly associated with the 1944 assassination attempt were trained Prussian officers who had only acted at that time due to them having enough faith that their oath (see above link) was broken.
