    I've got three:
"Walk softly but carry a big stick" Teddy Roosevelt

"The object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other bastard die for his" Gen. Patton

"If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen." Pres. Truman

One from Ted Kennedy, the only one I like from Teddy.
For every complex problem there is a simple solution.....and it's always wrong!

    From uncle Joe

The Pope, how many divisions has he got?

Ideas are far more powerful than guns. We don't allow our enemies to have guns, why should we allowed them to have ideas?

    Die, but do not retreat

    Another from Uncle Joe,

It doesn't matter who votes, it matters who counts the votes!

The mindless rejoicing at home is really appalling; it makes me fear that the first blow against Tokyo will make them wilt at once.

    The irony is significant.
BTW... No one I ever voted for ever came close!
So if you like America, don't thank me...,
and if you hate America, don't blame me...
    Keeping with the theme,
"True genius resides in the capacity for evaluation of uncertain, hazardous, and conflicting information."
    Winston Churchill

    " Gentlemen,

If you dropped a stick of bombs spaced within three inches of the pattern you want, and they landed in a field fifty yards from my office, they would probably break down the windows. If you dropped one 10,000 lb bomb and missed by 500 yards, you would at least blow the complete roof off the building!"

Roy Chadwick, the designer of the Lancaster bomb bay telling about his views why use bigger bombs....
