hey reidmuller , welcome!!! what a nice timing!!! i was about to ask for some pics of merlin's foes i hope that you feel at home in this forum,
question Halo Riedmuller, the previous are of the 'Tommy Atkins Society' mostly re-enacting the '49th.west Riding Infantry Div, WW2'. They will really appreciate you showing them how it's done! How on earth do you move with all that kit on?
Thanks Sturm tiger and Merlin Is it the 'Tommy Atkins Society' in the german kit too? as none of the faces seem fermliar and havent herd of them before?? as for moveing with that kit on it was hard that was after about 7 miles of martching and i was knakerd it was more the padded reversibles which restricted me the most and would rather have had a great coat but the martching is easy compaird to manuvering from cover just trying to get up its impossible!!
Tommy Atkins If you look at the pics from the beginning you will see quite a number are from the GCR a few weeks ago and if it comes to that I don't suppose they've heard of you either! Go on to their web site for details, Just type in 'Tommy Atkins Society', have a word with them, not me I'm just an elderly advisor!
re-enact in Germany. See if this site will open for you. http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?sect ... chive=true (apart from the re-enactment piece the complete 'Stripes' site is worth going through, I'm sure you'll find it of interest.)
Kelmarsh thought you might find this of interest, it is the 'Tommy Atkins' site lay-out at Kelmarsh Hall for the English Heritage Society this coming week end Aug 12th/13th. Note the various theatres of war with different displays for the viewing public.
