Ludwig Crüwell, war signed Hoffmann postcard.
Crüwell received the Oakleaves as the 34.
soldier of the German Wehrmacht.

 

Couldn't let ol' JP44 have it all his own way....the duster put in another appearance.....










Also dated 1944, but - as most of them were - reworked by US arsenals postwar ( hence the bayonet lug ). I always like the fact that the barrel of this one is clearly stamped 'IBM'.

It may not have been the hardest-hitting weapon of all time, but it is beautiful to behold and the ergonomics of it are very sweet

Some smaller 'trinkets' from my collection.

2 German cigarette lighters, one is Luftwaffe issue and the other is army.
A relic Heer belt buckle (bought in a shop in St Mere Eglise).
German dog tag, the markings on it are:

15 = Soldiers roll number
5 = Company number
Pz = Panzer (armoured)
Gren = Grenadier (rifleman)
Ers = Ersatz (replacement)
U = ?
Ausb = Ausbildung (training)
Btl = Bataillon (battalion)
6 = Battalion number
A/B = Blood group

 

Hi guys, as I promised a long long time ago, some better pictures of my K98 stuff, note the x on the receiver which is a Russian marking applied after capture.
The cleaning kit has a whermacht police eagle attached to the front

I think from the Russian markings it would appear that this weapon has seen action on the ost front, if only it could talk ...

 

Hi again, now I have found some time away from my lovely wife, here are some pictures of my fighting knives.
They are all fairbairn sykes knives apart from one which my farther in law brought back from Italy, he said that the guy how had it 'did not want it any more' dont know what he meant by that?????

 

Very nice collection, Pegasus - and a nice example of a German close-combat knife ; these are getting quite collectable now.....

 

Beautiful sniper rifle. I'd give my teeth for that scope and rail set. I need a set for my sniper variant.

 

The scope is a later modle, it has a taper roller mount and matching serial numbers to the rifle.

You can get them on ebay, but look out for the copies !!!!, my one has rust pitting and is a bit used looking so I am fairly sure it is genuine.

The bolt also has electrto pencile numbers eched on it which also indicates Russian capture

I have used this rifle on a local military range with a freind of mine JP 44, he shoots like a girl, it kicks like a mule, I would not like to shoot all day long!!!!

Next I want an enfield No4 ww2 dated with matching scope and rifle numbers, my lovely wife has promised me one for my 40th birthday, wish me luck

Hi all,

I fortunately have an array of items from my Dad's service in WWII and Korea, some of which only came to light after his passing. He served with the AIF in WWII as a Commando in New Guinea before changing to a blue uniform post-war and remustering as a fighter pilot. He subsequently flew 201 missions in Korea.

Probably one of the most poignant pieces is a pair of goggles that were blasted off his face during a low level strike in Korea. The frame is buckled and one lens is shattered. There's also some evidence of his 'claret' on the padding from where he was wounded. Not A WWII piece, but hopefully of interest.

Just bought an album of photos of a German field hospital probably in Poland.

Kriegslazarett 2/533/RI Innere Abt I is mentioned on some pics. (..and Sanok station ).

Once I get the pictures perhaps I´ll show better pics...

I too just scored a nice piece. I now have a Close Combat Clasp in Silver-thanks to two good friends on a militaria site. This baby should be in my hands by the end of the week ;-))

This baby will be a nice companio piece for my minty C.C.C. in Bronze-bought from the same collectore last year. Sorry I have no way of showing pictures---yet. When I can, you will "get-you-money's-worth," that's a fact. ;-))

 

pegasus am I understanding you right your K98 kicks like a mule ? interesting if true my K98 ar 42, # 8121 is smooth action and the stock fits right into my shoulder...........I have to admit I need to get a sight hood as my eyes are going.. .
