Skipper's right. After all, we want the tourists to keep spending their money and not watching television.

Choice of wheels with false arguments is still a want, not a need, but since you will not get that I suggest we leave that topic.

Well, many things we think we need are really not absolutely necessary, that I agree. Still having news and other quality/educational programs made in your country, by your countrymen, to the local audience using the local language is pretty useful, if not absolutely critical. It is definitely more useful than buing a pick-up when all one really ever needs is a normal car.

We too have those three seperate components, but only the (executive) government is considered here to be "the government". Only the parliament is elected by the general public.

When I wrote that we have 8 parties I meant, that there are 8 parties having seats in the parliament. There are more though.

Still do not agree with you (surprise...!). The police is enforcing the law in a way, that doesn't leave any room for error. The speedometer of a car might be a bit off, the police radar might be a bit inaccurate (not really) and so on. That's why there's a small tolerance, after which the police takes action. The law indeed is enforced - and your argument was a strawman.

Yes, I was talking about both, and more about the tv. We agree then.

The proper function of a government (or a parliament in this case) in this case is e.g. to produce tv and radio programs, which the public needs and which the parliament decides the public should be able to see, but are not profitable for privete companies.

Hey Green, "We shouldn't let the nutters define who we are, or our view of the societies that they grew up in." After your evidence of all the nutters, this message was a bit too muted at the end. Re: your initial post, this thread.

Heck with it. We aren't all Ugly Americans. Cut us some slack. It is a tragic sociological degeneration in certain segments of the gene pool that adversely affects all of our images, worldwide.

Look; if anyone needs me to hold their jacket while fisticuffs ensue, I promise to be neutral.
And you know how much that statement hurt...
