Thought of the Day thread

Here is one I remember only vaguely, and perhaps inaccurately. I don’t even remember where I read it, or who wrote it; “Laws are the filters we force human greed and self interest through to create a civil society, this comes out in drips and drabs. This never arrives in a flood.”
