  I cant rep or salute ye yet but I couldn't agree with you more on these. I can't stand Deens ""Southern"" hey y'all crap either. The heyseed speech needs to go. I can't stand Rachel Ray either. Im not sure which chick has the canned food and cocktail show but I THINK I know who your talking about. Im usually gone when her show comes on-as well as the slightly heavy-set lady who always shows where she shops to buy fresh food before she preps it-I can't think of her name. Alton Brown is OK, but he makes me feel like im still in 6th grade Science class-which I absolutely hated and also loathed the teacher. I like that one show that tells about when certain foods got started and how they were made. I don't like that Iron Chef show-mainly because they never have anything they cook, that I would like to eat. I sometimes watch Bobby Flays-Throw Down. Anothony B/ is good to watch but, I can't stand watching that bald guy who eats the most craziest crap from any culture.
Just picked up: The Bielski Brothers (DEFIANT) . I HOPE its good enough to keep in my DvD collection?
Part 2 of a 2-part document on Einsatzgruppen by Kuiv productions/France 2/Planéte tonight on television. Towards the end and Nuremberg trials. Inc was footage of several condemned ss killers being hanged in the East, starting as early as 1943. Unfortunately could not see their faces but must have been a "weird feeling" after having done the same thing a million times to others and now they were going through it themselves..... Otto Ohlendorf seems to have been one of the very few who still as he was under arrest believed in the cause and would have done the same again.
'Memphis Belle', the feature film. Nothing like the true story but some great shots of B-17s and I felt they had captured the mood quite well.............The William Wyler WW2 doc is still better though!!
They did a lot of research and came to the conclusion it was...PM me for that one if you want...but they did say many researchers come to many different conclusions.
Just not that keen on Bond. BTW: I was watching him with Michael Cain in The Fourth Protocol last night.
Truthfully, I aint that keen on Bond either. I just picked up 4 movies because they were only $5 bucks each and that's a pretty good deal for movies from top-rated studios ;-0)
I was watching the third X Men movie and when the troops are gathering their new weapons to use against Magneto you can hear R Lee Ermey giving the orders. Ermey is one of the best military actors around. I also finished watching The Caine Mutiny. The biggest villain in the movie is Keefer[Fred MacMurray]. Keefer throws the rock and hids his hand to the point of lying on the witness stand. Bogart as Queeg is an excellent choice.
The Caine Mutany is an all-time Classic. All the actors named were great. I also thought Van Johnson dis a top notch job of his role in that movie as well. This was the first and ONLY Van Johnson movie I ever got to see as a kid-that is-untill cable TV came along and WTBS in Atlanta-played Battleground.
I was watching a documentary on the Caine Mutiny and the actual ending was that Keefer was going to be in command of the Caine. During a Kamikaze attack Keefer panics and must be saved. Keefer shows the same signs as Queeg [ The old yellow stain incident]. The final commander of the Caine is Willi Keith.
I think that was the ending the book had as well. Its been at least 34 years since I last read the book.
Watched "Hurt Locker" last night.........good flick. Watched "Star Trek" last weekend.........actually watched it twice: OUTSTANDING movie.
Hi Brad, I was going to ask you about Hurt Locker, and now I know it is Ok to watch. I still need to watch Star Trek though.
Both movies are very good; Star Trek gets the nod as being the better of the two. You have to listen to the dialogue in Star Trek and pay attention to the whats going on. So far I have watched it 4 times and everytime I have picked up something different. If you have the abilty watch it in "letterbox" format or HD/Blue ray, there is quite a bit lost in the formatting for CRT viewing. Hurt Locker is a little cliche; but, it has a classic ring to it. I had actually been avoiding the movie until I read a review in the Marine Times. I had assumed it would be a typical "why are we here" movie. It was money well spent.
Kamikaze in Color. I came across it while browsing the dvd's at Zellers today. While it was only $2.99, I initially had misgivings about purchasing it (thinking it was one Madacy's sub-par offerings), but eventually I caved in and bought it. It was pretty good, but there were a few times where the same images were repeated, and the casualty figures of the IJAAF Kamikaze's were overlooked.
Hi Brad, thanks for Star Treks run-down. I've been eyeing a copy of it at Wal-Mart but have not bought a copy yet. Oh and I finally got around to watching: Defiance. It's a pretty good movie and the first I watched with Daniel Craig. Same thing goes for Hurt Locker. I almost bought it on DvD over the weekend. I skipperd a day and decided to get it but, they were sold out. Almost forgot; Over the weekend i saw Battleground yat once again-and never tire of it. I also watched James Stewart in: Bend of the River. Pretty good Western as far as westerns go-and it also has: Arthur Kennedy, Rock Hudson and Jay C. Flippen in it. Just yesterday I saw: Harald and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo. Not as good as its predecessor-but I guess was worth the $5 bucks spent.
Thunder Birds - John Sutton, Preston Foster, & Gene Tierney Classic! View attachment 10005 all the best, Jem
"Countdown to D-day", movie in which Selleck is Ike. OK movie but nothing extraordinary. Ike: Countdown to D-Day (2004) (TV)
Watched The Enemy Below yesterday, some years since I watched that one. Looking forward to watching Big John in Sands of Iwo Jima tomorrow, not seen this one.
