I watched "Jersey Girl" the other night. It's sort of a date movie, no shoot'em up action of any kind.

You may need to buy a new DVD player, most are now all regions like my one. I got some DVD's not region 2 as I just could not get them on my region. All this region rubbish is pointless.

I just saw a B/W WWII movie starring Charlton Heston on cable. I didn't catch the beginning so I don't know the name of the movie. It's about two US soldiers (Heston was a captain) sent to Rome as agents. They brought dozens of pigeons with them but the Italian family that sheltered the agents ate the pigeons, thus starting a comedy of errors for Heston and his buddy. The Italian father and his son replaced Heston's pigeons with German pigeons, thus Heston's messages were being intercepted by the Germans. It's worth watching how Heston figured out a way to turn the tables on the Germans.

    War and Remembrance.

Not bad really, old TV special I think. Only half way through the 12 or so episodes.

Thank you for the link Ray, I owe ya for it.

Scott, War and Remembrance was excellent. I have it and its predecessor (The Winds of War) on DvD. I saw them both aired on TV at least twice and then wartched them all on VHS several times till I got the DvDs.

Damned comp lost my first post.

Saw: A Bridge Too Far-early on yesterday and then late yesterday saw the death of Superman in: Doomsday. The animation was top notch and I had not known that the voice of Superman was none other than Adam Baldwin-who I liked since his My Bodyguard, Next of Kin and Full Metal Jacket--days.

I watched the last hour of "Kelly's Heroes" the other day. I was flipping channels and came across it. Of course I had to finish it out. Never get tired of that one either.

Hey Falcon Jun, have you the chance to ever watch "They Were Expendable" with John Wayne and Robert Montgomery? They were PT boat drivers in the Philippines in the early days of WW2 in the Pacific. Great flick. Although it was set in the PI, it was filmed in south Florida.

Same here. I got to it just as the ending thematic music "Burning Bridges by the Mike Curb Congregation" was starting top play. I was irritated with myself for not knowing AMC was playing it so I dug out my copy and watched it for the billionth time ;-))
