    Hello Richard,

The "Fatherland" with Rutger Hauer? It's a long time ago I saw that movie...but as far as I remember the Nazis had not won, they were still at war with parts of the US and Russia.

Rutger even discovered the "burried" truth about the holocaoust which made the whole Nazi system crumble, wasn't it???

    Regards

They defeated the Allies on D-Day and America pulled out the war in Europe and Britain was invaded. America defeats Japan and a cold war comes about with America & Germany, the war in Russia continues as a bitter gorilla war fought by the aging Stalin. On Hitler's 75th birthday he wants to bury the cold war with America so he can crush Russia once and for all. Rutger plays a SS officer investigated the murder of a former high ranking party member which leads to the nightmare of the war years coming to light with the help of a American women.

Watched Whiskey Galore last night, can't decide how I feel about it. I mean on the one hand it is making fun of an English officer who is actually doing the right thing (preventing theft). On the other hand it is equally making fun of the islanders who are portrayed as devious and deceitful alcoholics which is eventually their comeuppance. Good film though.

For me tonight it's going to be "Pork Chop Hill" with G. Peck. Not ww2 but nevertheless one of the real classical war movies to me.

Has anyone seen "Days of Glory" with G. Peck ? or knows where to get this movie?

    Regards
    Kruska
