A few more of my recent additions.

An MP40 magazine which still retains most of its original bluing. Maker marked FXO and WaA 37 which shows it was manufactured by C G Haenel, Suhl.

A slightly battered and tired gasmask canister produced by Ewald Witte, Velbert.

The gasmask that came with the canister is in somewhat better condition and is painted blue to supposedly indicate that it was anti magnetic and therefore safe to use near sensitive electronic equipment.

The filter valve housing was made by Honsel Werke A.-G., Meschede.

The rubber mask itself has an as yet unidentified 3 letter maker code.

I didn't have the blue painted variant.

Also I can't help myself when it comes to German gasmasks, I buy one at almost every militaria show I go to! :)

    Thanks Rich.
I'm very happy with the magazine, not just for the fact that it is in great condition but also that I got it for half the price of what I saw other dealers selling them for.

Now I just need the Maschinenpistole 40 to go with it!

Ooooh! Now your trying to make me jealous!

    Can you post some photos?

    P.S.
You probably aleady know this but your MP40 was produced by Steyr-Daimler-Puch of Steyr, Austria sometime between 1944 and the end of the war. Does it have a WaA182 stamped on it?

    Dig it out!?!?!?
If I had an MP40 it would be on display on my militaria room wall! :D

WaA77 was also allocated to the Steyr-Daimler-Puch factory and according to the list I have it was used for K98s and between 1941-44.

However that is not to say it wasn't used on other weapons during production.

You may find that there is more than one particular WaA number on your MP40 as German weapons quite often have a few different ones on them as some parts could be manufactured at different plants before final assembly at another.

Just arrived from Normandy - another vital part for my '88' collection. This is the second-type metal canister for the Flak 36. I've been looking for one of these for years ( and years ! ) so I'm very happy to have found one, and not for 'crazy money'. As you can see, it makes a nice 'home' for my 88 steel case ( bought at War&Peace 2016 ) and AP shell ( War&Peace 2015 ).

    I am very pleased !
