fantastic book skipper ,I have not seen it before,it tell's the story of flemish boys and girls who where send to the east ,they belonged to the "land vollunteers" it was the intention to learn them to become farmers in the east, and to become as the page reads the "great defence belt against Asia,if there is anything you want translated out of the book ,I will be more than happy to be of service

Cheers Pierre, I more or less posted this for you. It is part of my flemish Wappen SS collection which included, recruting flyers, a propaganda poster and a stamps . Don't worry about about the Dutch text, it's the language of my ancestors and I speak it fluently. I appreciate the gesture though. bedankt vriend!

"from all germanic country's ,the land volunteers boy's and girls where send to the east to help the farmers ,it is however not the intention to use them only for help but to make "weerboer" out of them ,meaning that they in time would own their own great hof (yard)
and become part of the big European defence wall against Asia,This is why whe as Hitler jugend Furher and Furhine have the special task to help these farmers and prepare them for their job after the war,and make them understand what their duty is in the east and what is to be
    expected of them
March and april must be the month's with a high landservice recrutation,it is our task to send by the end of June the best Germanic boy's and girls to the east,it is the furher and furhine's responsability to see that this must be a large an elite group"

this is more or less what it's saying

bedankt Skipper dat is een aangename verrasing  ,it might be of intrest to the none flemish members

I hope you agree with my text

I shure like to see the rest of that collection

I posted the recruitng flyer in the older newest Militaria thread. I will try to find it for you. It's for the Paschendaele group. The poster I have not posted yet. I is an original propaganda poster for the Westland ground and was found in a Kommandantur in Northern France. The stamp I posted in the "my stamp collection thread" . If you like those rare booklets, I have another one in German from the Pommerania section in Stettin. it is very similar to the Flemmish issue but it in gothic characters. Graag gedaan.

Yes! I hav emy Queen Mary Cap. The Queen Mary was a troop tranport during the war and tranported many RCAF troops from Canada to England.
I had already some memoralia from this ship but the Cap is really a must have.

I'm rather proud to have that cap. Despite some light mothing it's otherwise in fine condition and will suit with my Royal Navy binos too.

The following is first hand from a veteran: it's an original cap from the French Zouaves Regiment (North African Regiments made with French soldiers (not natives) . It has some admission stamps inside and insignias from the 1st Regiment with the crescent insignia and "1" figure insignia included.

I want to show you what was given to me today,at first sight I tought it was a condom that belonged to the german with the giant helmet:D
than I saw a date ,the bag is greasy ,this is the sort of baggs that where used to protect the GI's garand ,probably the same baggs used on the normandy beaches,;;;this must be the least worthless thing shown ever:p

This nice find will go perfectly with my Kepi collection. It is a genuine French officer Map case . Thye are much harder to find than the German one as the fabrication was stopped in 1940

Can't wait to see them Carl.

My latest: Romanian 1941 Barbarossa Medal (translation = Patriotic Crusade against Communism) wich was awarded to Axis soldiers . This is the equivalent of the Ostfront Medal . The ribbon is red and white. Note this picture of a German wearing it.

Glad you like my Romanian medal. I have been radign a bit about it and it was also awarded with clasps of the famous battles Romanians took part in. Apparently qute a lot of Germans were awarded it.

This is my latest : a genuine Zeltbahn found at a local flea market. It is in good condition and not too worn. I was extremely happy to get this .

    Very nice Zelt, Skipper.

Let me guess-you paid 2 Euros for it ? ;)

I can just about see what looks like the manufacturers ink stamp in your first photo, is it legible ?

Cheers John, I still haven't figured out the inkstamp , I can't decypher it at this point. I actually put quite some money in this Zeltbahn , it has all the buttons and the seller knew what he had , so we got an agreement for 50 euros which is still a good price.
