    I will go with the 'WS' convoy question I posted above...

    What did the WS stand for in wartime British convoys?

    For example Convoy WS17...

    It is the code for convoys going from the United Kingdom to Middle East to India.

    "Convoy WS. 11...

    Each regular convoy run was identified by its initials, usually denoting the starting or finishing points of that run. The WS convoys were an EXCEPTION; the initials stood for 'WINSTON'S SPECIALS'."

    Answer = WS stood for 'Winston's Specials'... ;)
