I am looking for information on Pvt. George Kashula of the 453rd Amphibian Truck Company who was killed on June 6, 1944. I know that he was born in Korn Krest, PA. I have his records, or what is remaining of them, from St. Louis and the National Archives.

What I would love is to find a photo of George or someone who can share a story or two about him. The family has no known photos and no memory of who he was as a young man.

There is a wonderful family in Normandy who cares for George's grave and would be so delighted to know more about him. He is loved and respected for his service to the USA and to France. He is loved by this beautiful family who also care for several other graves.

Please, can anyone help me find out about George? Veteran’s Service Number: 13128251.

    Thank you .... Beth

I've found that local newspaper archives and historical societies can be helpful. Maybe try contacting the Luzerne County Historical Society and see if they can help.

Evidently, according to Fold3, he died of wounds (DOW), not KIA. I don't know if it's important though. Haven't found any pictures, so I would follow Tommy's suggestion.
